TSIFB Chapter 47

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
My world consists of only you

Yu Baizhou heard He Yan’s answer and his face suddenly flushed.

Listening to He Yan talk about the person he liked, Tu Gaoming was beyond curious. Despite asking question after question, He Yan did not intend to give out more information.

‘Like’. This was the first time Yu Baizhou heard He Yan directly say that he liked him. This feeling was very wonderful, as if a small boat floating along the river suddenly found a dock it could finally rest at.

Tu Gaoming pestered He Yan for answers that the other refused to give out and gave up in the end. After a while, he turned his attention to Yu Baizhou, who had not participated in small discussion just now and was currently blushing red. He looked at Yu Baizhou and asked, “Boss, why’s your face so red?”

They sat at a table positioned close to the door and the outside temperature was low, so it was unlikely for a person to get hot.

Yu Baizhou recovered and realised that his face was indeed gaining heat. Worried that Tu Gaoming’s brain would start to work more than necessary, he hurriedly explained, “It’s fine, I accidentally ate a chili just now and it was spicier than I thought it would be.”

When eating kushiyaki, Yu Baizhou liked to eat with a glass of water since he liked spicy foods and would dip the skewer in more chilli sauce.

Hearing this explanation, Tu Gaoming really believed Yu Baizhou was affected by the spice and he quickly poured Yu Baizhou a drink.

He Yan let out a low laugh.

Their group turned the conversation to other topics.

He Yan chatted with the others for a while as Yu Baizhou spent this period of time stuffing food in his mouth. When he had just about eaten his fill and almost full, he put down his chopsticks and listened to the other three chat as he drunk from his cup.

At this time, He Yan happened to glance at the time and said to Tu Gaoming and them, “I can only talk with you guys up ‘til now today, I still have a date to attend.”

Tu Gaoming looked at He Yan, who hadn’t eaten much at all. “Leaving after eating so little ya? When did you two agree to meet up, if there’s enough time you should stay and eat some more ah.”

Yu Baizhou originally wanted to burp but after listening to Tu Gaoming he became too embarrassed to let it out.

After a while, he suddenly reacted. He Yan seemed to not have eaten much while he had been busy all this time, trying to fill his mouth and stomach. When he had finally finished eating, the other said he wanted to leave. It appeared as if……he had been waiting for him the entire time.

He Yan said, “It’s about time, you guys keep eating and I’ll go first.”

Che Cong understandingly replied, “En, you can’t be late for the date or else the other’s impression of you will worsen. Hurry and go ba.”

He Yan nodded and got up from his spot.

Tu Gaoming remembered He Yan’s previous showing of his straight man-like behaviour and was extremely worried for him. Anxious that He Yan would continue to walk down his old road, he said earnestly to the other before he left, “Brother*, you absolutely must remember not to speak like a straight man ah. Don’t walk down your* old path.”

[T/N: terms used: brother = xiongdi, your = ge]

He Yan flashed a smile. “I……will try my best.”

After He Yan left, Yu Baizhou also knew that it was time for him to go too, so after waiting two minutes or so he said to the remaining two, “I also have a date, you guys can eat but I’ll be leaving first.”

Tu Gaoming looked at him resentfully. “No way ba, Boss, you also have a date?”

Yu Baizhou smiled with embarrassment. “En.”

If it was only one person who had a date then things would still be okay. However, learning that two people around him were leaving for a date one directly after the other, Tu Gaoming’s feelings of falling out of love returned immediately.

Yu Baizhou comforted Tu Gaoming with couple of sentences. Not wanting He Yan to wait for himself for too long, he didn’t waste time loitering around the other boys and went to pay his part of the bill before leaving.

In the kushiyaki shop, Tu Gaoming watched Che Cong with an expression that appeared to be a second away from bursting into tears. “Che Cong, I object, they both have dates, let’s both go on a date as well.”

Che Cong looked at him with suspicious eyes. “Didn’t you just break up ma? Who’re you going on a date with?”

Tu Gaoming: “You ah.”

Che Cong: “……”

Che Cong squinted at him. “Get far away from me, you’re disgusting to this Laozi.”

Tu Gaoming: “……” Damn, even his own brother* didn’t want to date him. These additional blows were really hurting.

[T/N: xiongdi again]

Yu Baizhou walked out and just after a corner he saw He Yan leaning against the wall, evidently waiting for himself.

Seeing the incoming person, He Yan’s eyes curled upwards.

Yu Baizhou stared at the pair of smiling eyes, feeling his heart beat abnormally for a moment.

They weren’t separated too far away from each other, yet despite being only a few steps away, Yu Baizhou inexplicably felt the distance to be too long. The sound of every step stacked up one after another in his heart, and his heartbeat felt like it was being created by the hitting of a small hammer. Step after step, hit after hit, it eventually filled up the void in his heart.

He Yan watched the boy who had made his way to his front and said, “520* seconds.”

[T/N: 520/wu-er-ling sounds like ‘I love you’/wo-ai-ni]

Yu Baizhou looked at him with uncertainty.

“From the time I said I was leaving, until the time you appeared in front of me.” He Yan smiled. “Say, isn’t this quite the coincidence?”

After Yu Baizhou understood the meaning behind his words, his breathing involuntarily stagnated and a small tidal wave turned over in his heart.

“It’s quite……the coincidence.”

He Yan always had a thousand ways to move his heart.

Thinking of something, Yu Baizhou said, “Is it……now too late to watch the movie?”

But just after asking, he already regretted it.

The movie started at 7:20 but the current time was already past 8 o’clock, of course it wasn’t possible for them to be on time.

Yu Baizhou felt more than a little distressed.

It’s been a while since their planned movie was released and with so many new movies premiering tonight it meant the one they wanted to watch only had two showings.

The showing at 7:20 was the very last one.

“We might’ve missed the one you like tonight, but……” He Yan took out two movie tickets from his coat pocket. “I bought tickets for another movie. It starts at half-past eight, so we’ll make it in time. Just, you might not necessarily enjoy it. If you don’t want to watch it, we can just skip the movie entirely.”

Hearing this, Yu Baizhou hurriedly agreed, “Let’s watch it ba.”

After finishing speaking Yu Baizhou realised that he seemed to have answered a little too eagerly just now. Embarrassed, he explained, “I mean, we’ve come all the way here anyway, wouldn’t it be a pity if we just go home without watching anything?”

He Yan looked at the ears that were red and that had betrayed all thoughts of the boy standing in front of him. He listened to the other’s explanation but his heart had already turned into a soft ball at this stage.

He said, “Okay.”

Sure enough, there was reason why he couldn’t let go.

The two walked together to the cinema that wasn’t located far away from where they stood. Along the way, familiar Christmas songs followed them. The Christmas trees displayed by many shop windows were decorated with lights and there were cut-outs of snowmen and Santa Claus everywhere.

They occasionally ran into a few old people who sold bouquets and there would always be a couple standing next to the vendor. The man would buy a bright red rose and send it into the hands of his shy girlfriend. Bliss and happiness were present all over their faces.

The corners of Yu Baizhou’s mouth hooked up in a smile and he retracted his eyes.

They arrived at the cinema and found that there were still a lot of people around. Every single pair were lovers.

There was a long queue at the ticket stand. Fortunately, He Yan had already purchased and collected the tickets in advance.

The two asked for a bucket of popcorn and two cups of coke.

Yu Baizhou held a glass of coke while He Yan held the other glass and the popcorn.

It wasn’t awkward. Instead, he felt a sense of indiscernible intimacy.

He Yan very considerately placed the popcorn close to him. As long as he wanted to eat, he could grab at it naturally without exerting much effort.

Yu Baizhou suddenly recalled the previous conversation between Che Cong and Tu Gaoming. Che Cong called out Tu Gaoming for being a straight man with the way he pushed the bucket of popcorn into his girlfriend’s hands and Tu Gaoming had explained that he was afraid keeping the popcorn to himself would cause the other party to become too embarrassed to ask for it, hence why he made the girl hold the popcorn. He had originally and verily agreed with Tu Gaoming’s statement but now his view had shifted to agree with Che Cong.

It was during Christmas time that the presence of couples overtook anyone and everyone else. Most of these people would choose to watch romantic movies and the movie He Yan later switched to happened to be the same as the general public: a romance movie.

The cinema was almost full by the time they went inside. He Yan had chosen seats that were located at the very back of the room.

In the dark, the two walked towards the back seats with Yu Baizhou leading at the front. It was too dark for the ground to be seen and the only aid was the faint light that projected from the screen occasionally, flashing black and white and making it so that one’s eyes would become uncomfortable quickly. When he was about to step up another level Yu Baizhou had a brief moment where his eyes couldn’t see anything at all and he accidentally placed his foot on the corner of the step, slipping off the edge and almost falling back.

He quickly reached out to hold onto the wall beside him and at the same time a strong arm hugged his waist from behind. His back was firmly and sturdily pressed against a hard and broad chest, his head also tucked into the warm touch of the person’s neck. An almost unanimous heartbeat to his own travelled from the close body into his skin.

He Yan’s soft voice came from above his head. “The first time was going downstairs, the second time was upstairs; why are you always so careless?”

Yu Baizhou thought back to that time when he nearly fell while walking downstairs and was hugged by He Yan from behind. With a red face, he replied, “I……I just didn’t see clearly.”

Yu Baizhou managed to stand firmly and He Yan released his hand.

The movie was not as good as what Yu Baizhou had imagined but it was probably because he had food that he didn’t feel too bored. He ate popcorn, drank cola, and occasionally dawdled.

When the movie reached its climax the heroine passionately kissed the hero, the act born from her overflowing emotion. It was just a light kiss*, but this little kiss obviously evoked the feelings of the hero and before the heroine’s lips were separated too far away from his, the hero pulled her back in to be kissed again. Kissing seemed to be contagious, as the couples in the cinema began to kiss their own partner.

[T/N: literally, dragonfly kiss]

There were several couples sitting in the seats next to Yu Baizhou. They followed the rhythm of the movie theater and kissed their lovers inseparably. At this time, Yu Baizhou, who wasn’t able to get into the movie and was surrounded by so many couples, suddenly felt a little hot in his face.

Suddenly remembering that there was He Yan who sat beside him, he carefully glanced in the other’s direction, only to find that He Yan was completely focused on whatever the movie’s plot had going. The pair of eyes were as serene as settled water. Even though they were under the onslaught of passionate lovers he was nothing but unmoved.

Very calm, as calm as a film critic.

Yu Baizhou propped his head on a hand and watched the protagonists kiss on the giant screen as he felt a sudden dullness. The sense of boredom that he hadn’t experienced prior to now had also arose.

Ai, so boring. If he had known then he wouldn’t have chosen to watch this type of movie.

Compared to romance movies, Yu Baizhou much preferred action movies.

What can you do when you’re bored? Of course, it’s eating.

With his face still using an arm and hand as support, Yu Baizhou’s other hand stretched over to He Yan to grab at the popcorn.

He grabbed a handful of popcorn and was about to withdraw his hand from the bucket when suddenly, the back of the hand was lightly rubbed by a finger. Yu Baizhou’s hand subconsciously shrank and after turning his head, he was met with He Yan’s smiling face.

He Yan was watching him……even though he was obviously viewing the movie so seriously just now.

Yu Baizhou whispered, “What are you looking at me for.”

He Yan stretched out the finger that had swiped the back of Yu Baizhou’s hand just before and hooked Yu Baizhou’s little finger. With a tone that was more than a little ambiguous, he said, “After watching for a long time, I found that the movie is still not as good-looking as you.”

With a ‘boom’, Yu Baizhou lost all reasoning in his mind from the explosion.

Seeing the heroes in the movie kissing, seeing the couples sitting around them kissing, none of these were as impactful as the effect He Yan’s words had on him.

His face was burning hot but luckily it was dark in the cinema.

For a while he had no idea what to reply with and wanted to withdraw his hand, only to find that his little finger had been hooked by He Yan.

His heart felt numb.

He wanted He Yan to let go, but He Yan did not.

One second seemed to pass very slowly. Very and so slowly, it felt like a century had gone by.

Only until after the hard kiss between the hero and heroine in the movie ended did He Yan finally let him go. When he got the chance, Yu Baizhou didn’t dare to stay any longer and didn’t want the popcorn in his hand anymore. He speedily pulled his hand back.

He Yan laughed lightly while Yu Baizhou was too ashamed to even lift his face.

In the second half of the movie Yu Baizhou watched on with trepidation. It wasn’t until the movie was over and the two of them left the dark room that his body relaxed with a sigh of relief.

Yet He Yan already took up the appearance of an outsider.

Yu Baizhou felt a little angry in his heart, then made up his mind that he must not give another chance to be stirred up by He Yan again tonight.

There were many street vendors selling small things outside the cinema, with one selling cotton candy in the shape of clouds. Yu Baizhou liked to eat both spicy and sweet, and ended up going over to buy one.

He held it in his hand, taking bites while walking.

After a few bites, he asked He Yan, “Do you want to try it too?”

He Yan stretched out a hand to tear off a small piece, feeding it into his mouth before looking at Yu Baizhou. “It’s very sweet.”

Just like you.

Yu Baizhou laughed. “Right? I really like cotton candy.”

He Yan watched Yu Baizhou and smiled. “En, I like it very much as well.”

The two walked along the road and after a while they came by the park where they had viewed the fireworks fountain.

He Yan suddenly proposed, “Shall we head in for a walk?”

Yu Baizhou glanced inside the park and nodded.

The two walked to the lakeside. Yu Baizhou remembered that since today was Saturday, there should be some firework showings. It’s just that the performance times have already passed.

He suddenly felt that they were a little unfortunate. Because of an accident that occurred the last time he came here together with He Yan, he failed to take a good look of the show.

There were a lot fewer people here than in the cinema, most likely because all showing times have already passed.

The two of them strolled around the lake. Yu Baizhou had long finished his cotton candy, leaving only a stick in his hand. He held the stick in his grip and carefully waved it around, just like a child with a toy.

Tired halfway through playing, he switched to chatting with He Yan.

As he walked forward, he commented, “I had a very happy time tonight.”

Behind him, He Yan’s voice was especially soft. “En.”

Yu Baizhou lowered his head and carefully asked, “Then……what about you?”

He Yan did not answer.

Yu Baizhou waited for a while but was unable to receive He Yan’s response. He couldn’t help but feel a little lost in his heart.

At this moment, the sound of the fountain switching on suddenly appeared in the distance. Yu Baizhou froze and turned his head to look. Sure enough, several water columns rose slowly from the lake and at the same time countless fireworks flew up in the distant sky.

Yu Baizhou’s entire body went still in shock.

How was this possible? The time for the last performance had clearly passed.

The moment the water columns fell, the fireworks burst into bloom.

At this time, Yu Baizhou’s hand that hung by his side was held by another and his back fell into an embrace.

Yu Baizhou’s breathing slightly stuttered. In the cold and windy night, the hand holding his seemed particularly warm.

But the thing that was warmer, was that person’s embrace.

Despite the warmth of He Yan’s arms, they were in a public area. He still feared being seen by others.

Yu Baizhou watched the fireworks in the distance but his mind was only on the person behind him. He called out He Yan’s name.

A familiar and low voice came from behind his ears. “Didn’t you ask if I was happy with tonight?”

“……”

“Very happy. Not only tonight; as long as you are by my side, I’m always very happy.”

Yu Baizhou’s pupils trembled very lightly.

He Yan wrapped an arm around his waist from the back, pressing his chest against his body, and with his mouth close to the boy’s ears, he said, “Yu Baizhou, I like you. I like you very much.”

The sudden confession and the heat that blew into his ears burned half of Yu Baizhou’s body into a crisp. His voice was a little tight when he said, “I……”

He Yan didn’t give him a chance to speak. “I don’t know when I fell in love with you*. All I know is that when I finally came to be, I could no longer turn my eyes away from you.”

[T/N: ‘迷上’: become enchanted by you]

“It’s as if you are the only one left in the world.”

Yu Baizhou listened on, feeling as if his heart had turned into a pool of boiling water with strings of bubbles bursting one after the other.

He Yan laced his hand through his fingers and clasped them with his own. With ten fingers intertwined, he then lowered head slightly, soft lips gently pressed against the boy’s ears. Accompanied by fireworks blooming in the far distance, his voice was low and seductive* as he asked, “Right now, my world consists of only you, so, shall we be together?”

[T/N: literally, torturous]
