TSIFB Chapter 13

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
Grandpa really paid too much for the plot

He Yan’s hand that reached for the vegetables stopped mid-air. Pan Yi’s eyes were still wide with surprise. The atmosphere around them froze in an instant.

Soon after, He Yan put down his chopsticks and looked at Pan Yi. “Since you are so idle, go buy more beer.”

Pan Yi explained, “No, I’m not idle, it’s just…”

Before he could get out what he wanted to say, He Yan’s phone suddenly rang.

He Yan glanced at the number listed and motioned for the other to answer it for him.

Pan Yi picked up the phone and slid across the answer button. “Wei*, hello.”

[T/N: basically a ‘hey’ you usually say when you answer the phone]

Over the speaker came a gentle and sweet feminine voice. “Hello, is this classmate He Yan?”

Pan Yi listened to this person’s voice, somehow finding it familiar but unable to recall who it was.

He glanced at He Yan and replied, “Sorry, He Yan went out and forgot to bring his phone. I’m his classmate.”

“Oh, so it’s like this. Sorry for bothering you, I’ll call again later.”

He Yan lightly nodded his head, signalling to Pan Yi that it was enough. However, Pan Yi did not hang up the phone immediately, and continued to converse while smiling. “It’s nothing, if you have anything to say then you can just tell me, I’ll help you pass along the message.”

He Yan glared at him.

Pan Yi kept up his grin and raised his eyebrows at him, hearing the person on the other side of the phone reply, “It’ll be great if you can.”

“If you can say, I can do,” Pan Yi said, generously.

The other side smiled and said, “I’m Maaga Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Jiang Yuan.”

When he heard the name of this person, Pan Yi’s eyeballs bulged out so much they were about to fall out. Shocked, he exaggeratedly mouthed to He Yan, “My god! It’s actually Maaga Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Jiang Yuan!! “

No wonder Pan Yi had thought the voice of the other person sounded so familiar.

He Yan shook his head, got up from his seat, and walked towards the balcony.

The person over the phone said, “Last week, I had a meeting with classmate He Yan. We originally wanted to invite him to be the cover model for our November issue, but this offer was refused by him. If possible, I hope he can accept the invitation from our magazine. The salary is not a problem, let alone needing to worry about exposure, so please help me pass on the message.”

Pan Yi’s gossiping heart itched. “Okay, I will help you with communication.”

Hanging up the phone, Pan Yi immediately ran to He Yan. “Maaga Magazine had actually already asked for you at this time! Never in a million years would I have expected this, Yan-ge!”

Maaga Magazine, a company with elegant taste, unique design styles and a novel fashion vision, was the trend-leading symbol in the fashion industry. Anyone who dabbled in the entertainment industry would be proud of being pasted on the cover pages of Maaga, as it was evidence of their high status in the fashion circle.

Pan Yi knew that He Yan and Maaga had a connection, but he didn’t know that they had a connection so early on in He Yan’s life.

In the future, Maaga Magazine’s reach gradually expanded. Along with the original fashion circle, the company also played around in the business circle. He Yan had been invited to shoot the cover many times, but Maaga would only receive one affirmation at most with every ten invitations sent out.

But, what made Pan Yi’s desire to gossip overflow was not the name of Maaga, but the editor-in-chief, Jiang Yuan.

Pan Yi previously mentioned how familiar the woman’s voice was, then remembered that Jiang Yuan in the past had taken the initiative to chase after his family’s President He. She had often appeared on their company grounds, giving flowers and gifts to He Yan every single day. The pursuit was intensely fierce.

Pan Yi bumped He Yan with his shoulder and chattered on. “Yan-ge, Jiang Yuan, eh? Unexpectedly, she had already noticed you so early on.”

He Yan ignored Pan Yi.

He held no interest in these things, whether it involved himself or others.

Soon, another call came through the phone.

This time, he didn’t have Pan Yi answer and picked it up himself.

He Yan said, “Hello, Doctor Feng.”

Hearing the word ‘doctor’, Pan Yi put away his smile.

The other side talked about some matter. He Yan replied, “No problem, I will visit tomorrow.”

He Yan hung up the phone as Pan Yi asked with concern, “Are there any problems over at the hospital?”

He Yan explained, “Nothing big. My mother needs a blood transfusion so I have to sign some documents.”

Pan Yi relaxed the grip on his heart, but it soon tightened once again. He worriedly asked, “Yan-ge, this time, Auntie will be okay, right?”

Hearing him say this, He Yan stared coldly at the high-rise building in the distance. His eyes dimmed slightly. “En.”

“Xiao-Zhou, when you’re ready, remember to take the soup from the kitchen. We’re leaving now.”

Fu Xia’s voice came from outside Yu Baizhou’s bedroom. While he changed, Yu Baizhou responded, “Okay.”

He quickly put on his clothes and went to the kitchen to take the soup from the housekeeper auntie, then walked to the front yard where their car was.

Today they were going to visit the Yu family’s grandfather, that is, Yu Chen’s father. The old man had accidentally hurt his waist while on an outdoor trip two days ago and was admitted to the hospital. Although it wasn’t a big problem, the accident had still given the entire Yu family a huge scare.

According to the book’s information, Yu family’s grandfather was a very reasonable person, and his ideology was relatively open. When he was younger, he suddenly learned his son was gay. After being shocked for only half a day, he quickly accepted his son. Although there were only a handful of paragraphs describing him in the book, Yu Baizhou intuitively felt that this old man should be easy to get along with.

The car stopped at the entrance of the Second Central Hospital of the city. Yu Baizhou looked up at the hospital’s name for a moment, surprised. Isn’t this the place where He Yan’s mother was hospitalized?

The contents of the novel came to mind at once. Reading through, Yu Baizhou realised why Yu family’s grandfather became injured. The reason why he appeared here today was because the book needed him to advance the plot.

Today, a very important scene in the book would take place. The original owner had to follow his parents to visit his grandfather in hospital. Then, he would quarrel with Yu Chen over some little thing, resulting with him storming out due to his horrible temper and making his way home alone. However, he accidentally came across He Yan, who had come to the hospital to visit his mother. The original owner, acting as if he had come across a much-needed punching bag, dropped all his fury onto He Yan’s head. Usually, He Yan would’ve been able endure the torment, but during his visit that day, he had been told that his mother’s condition was not looking optimistic. With his emotional state already in the dumps as well as the ridiculing words spoken by the original owner, He Yan was no longer able to keep his temper in check, and ran up to the original host to punch him. The two engaged in a fight right in the middle of the hospital, kicking up such a fuss that the hospital’s security guards had to pull them apart.

After this incident, the hatred level between the original owner and He Yan was pushed up another notch.

Yu Baizhou imagined the scene of him and He Yan getting in a fight. In the end, he was unable to even look straight.

“What are you zoning out for?”

Fu Xia’s voice pulled Yu Baizhou’s thoughts away from their straying path. Yu Baizhou returned to reality and replied, “Oh, I suddenly remembered that my classmate’s mother is hospitalized, and it seems like she was also admitted into this hospital.”

“Is that so?” Fu Xia continued, “Fortunately, we prepared two servings of the soup today. Since she’s your classmate’s mother, remember to visit her later.”

“Ah?”

Yu Chen’s impatient voice floated over from some distance in front of them, “You two, hurry up. If we’re late, the old man will blow his top.”

Fu Xia and Yu Baizhou quickly caught up.

Grandpa Yu stayed in a single ward. The environment inside was very good; the facilities worked perfectly, and there were even extra nurses to take care of everything. In fact, with the old man’s state and his injuries, he really should be sent to a hospital with better service conditions. However, in order for the plot to continue, the circumstances had to let the original owner and He Yan meet. In the end, they both had to be sent here.

All of this was for the plot. Grandpa Yu really paid too much.

At first glance, when Yu Baizhou saw his grandfather, he definitely couldn’t tell that this was, claimed by Yu Chen himself, a man who would ‘blow his top’ if someone was late. The old man had a very gentle appearance with a smiling face that looked especially kind. Despite being the number one figure in A city, there was no trace of arrogance on his body. Instead, he looked very approachable.

“Aiyo, my good grandson is here! Quickly come give your grandpa a hug!”

Yu Baizhou walked over dutifully, hugged the old man, and called out “Grandpa”.

The old man was extremely happy.

Grandfather Yu had a generous personality. When he was happy, he would hand out red envelopes*. In a blink of an eye, Yu Baizhou was given a ‘small’ red envelope of ¥100,000*, while his father was on the receiving end of a ¥50,000 red envelope. The old man couldn’t be stopped.

[T/N: monetary gifts given out during holidays or special occasions]

[T/N: Chinese yuan, currency of China. ¥100,000 is obviously quite a lot, it’s roughly $14,000 USD]

At this time, the little grandson was ashamed: while the person sat at home, red envelopes fell from heaven.

After chatting his grandfather for a while, the old man asked about Yu Baizhou’s school life. Generally, at this time, in the face of the elders, the parents would only report the good and not the bad. But, with Yu Chen as a father, this was not the case.

Fu Xia had just finished talking about Yu Baizhou’s good side when Yu Chen interjected, “Almost 18 years old, yet still unable to keep people from constantly fussing over him.”

After Yu Chen spoke, the entire ward went quiet.

Once Yu Chen said the phrase “constantly fussing”, Yu Baizhou knew that the plot point had arrived.

According to the contents of the book, the original owner would quarrel with Yu Chen about some trivial matter, and, anxious to leave the hospital in a hurry, would meet H Yan.

The source of the quarrel was this ‘constantly fussing’.

In the novel, the original owner was already on bad terms with Yu Chen, and also happened to be in the middle of his rebellious phase. Hearing Yu Chen scold him like this, the original host spat out two sentences of pure insult. Since Yu Chen’s temper was also fiery, both father nor son refused to back down, and they had an argument right in the hospital ward.

However, he was the soul occupying this body now. Yu Baizhou knew that he must not follow the plot. He absolutely didn’t want to get into a quarrel with Yu Chen before immediately going out to fight He Yan.

In order to avoid making Yu Chen angry, he had to change the course of the story right now.

So, with a sad face, he bowed down his head, and filled his words with repent. “I’m sorry, I was in the wrong. In the past, I was incredibly ignorant, causing all of you to be burdened with me.” His nose was a little itchy, probably from an on-coming cold. Yu Baizhou sniffed, then continued, “From now on, I will definitely correct all my bad habits and properly turn my mind and heart to my studies, so that you won’t have to constantly worry about me anymore.”

Perfect! As long as you show a depressed expression and ask for forgiveness, anyone who sees it will undoubtedly soften their hearts.

If he pulled this off, Yu Chen and Fu Xia will definitely feel his determination to correct himself. At the same time; first, it can give a little comfort to their hearts; second, in the future, when he wants to do things differently from the original owner’s mindset, they will no longer occasionally show doubtful expressions.

Once Yu Baizhou finished his performance, the ward became even more silent, as if everyone felt the sincerity of his confession.

However, just as he was about to inwardly and proudly celebrate the beautiful execution of his plan, an angry roar from the old man suddenly broke out in the ward.

“Yu Chen, you stinky child! Look at what you’ve crushed my grandson’s self-esteem into!! A young and lively boy has been scolded by you like this into crying!! You come over, see if I promise your mother in heaven whether or not I kill you today!!!”

Yu Chen’s complexion gradually developed a green tinge.

Yu Baizhou took a peek at Yu Chen’s tinged face, before his own face slowly mirrored the colour.

He swears he didn’t plan to end up here.

His self-esteem was not crushed, nor did he cry.

When Yu Chen turned his eyes over to him, Yu Baizhou’s soul shook.

Yu Baizhou: “…”

It’s over!

The author has something to say:

The most miserable transmigrated protagonist in history, a certain Yu-someone: “The plot…it came to me by itself!! QAQ”
