TSIFB Chapter 6

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
Believe me, he is a cannon fodder

When hearing his name come from He Yan’s mouth, Yu Baizhou inexplicably felt that it actually sounded pretty good?!

No, now was not the time to think about this!

Right now he was only wearing his swimming shorts and his entire upper body was bare. He Yan had pressed one hand on the door of the locker behind him and only left a few centimeters between them. This type of pose made him feel somewhat embarrassed, especially since his character setting was meant to be a tyrant of the school.

Just as he was about to speak up, Yu Baizhou suddenly noticed that the aura He Yan emitted was different from the usual. Very powerful, completely unlike when he was blocked off and bullied back then. This unexplainably made Yu Baizhou a little scared, so the domineering words he had ready dissipated in his throat. “Is…is something the matter?”

He Yan observed Yu Baizhou’s reaction. Under his bangs, his brown eyes narrowed.

Compared to normal clothes, the school’s uniform was much looser and wider. The two were really too close together, and Yu Baizhou’s upper body was completely naked. At this moment, He Yan’s uniform was stuck to his back. After a long time, the part of his back that was in contact with the material began to itch, and his face also flushed.

Yu Baizhou couldn’t stand the itch, which made his face red.

Seeing that He Yan didn’t answer for half a day, Yu Baizhou couldn’t resist the urge to scratch, so he prepared to turn around and confront He Yan face-to-face. But, before he moved, the hand that was to the side of the face retreated back, as did the school uniform that was pasted on him.

His back was finally free, and Yu Baizhou sighed with relief.

From beginning to end, every expression Yu Baizhou made fell onto He Yan’s eyes.

Yu Baizhou was almost close to losing it, so in order to avoid repeating the tragedy that occurred just now, he quickly took out his jacket and put it on. However, just as he fully wore his jacket, he found that the person behind him had already left.

He looked at the empty space behind him with a lot of doubt in his heart. How strange. He threatened the person but left without saying anything?

Yu Baizhou suddenly remembered the evaluation that several boys had given He Yan before class——a freak.

He had originally felt that it was a bad term to call others, but at this moment, he couldn’t help but think that He Yan was indeed a weirdo.

Moreover, this weirdo seemed to be particularly troublesome with him.

Yu Baizhou thought in his heart about how in the future, he should try to keep a good distance away from the other.

The second period was mathematics. As he returned to the third floor, Yu Baizhou saw a boy standing at the door of his class. With a head full of black hair, the teenager was pretty good-looking, but he simply didn’t recognise the boy. Yu Baizhou gave a passing look to the boy and went around him to enter the classroom.

Just as he stepped a foot into the classroom, his arm was pulled. Yu Baizhou turned his head and saw that the boy had grabbed his arm. “Let’s talk for a bit.”

Yu Baizhou was a little embarrassed.

Did this person know the original owner?

Yu Baizhou learned from the surrounding students that this person’s name was Li Bei. Li Bei… Wasn’t he the other school tyrant who shared the other half of the mountain* with the original?

[T/N: (school) territory]

Yu Baizhou studied this man’s eyes and thick brows. He looked warm and gentle, not at all like a bully. Soon after, he thought about how he and the original owner didn’t look at all fierce, but weren’t they the school tyrant? So, he let these ideas go.

The two stood in the hallway while people came and went beside them. Li Bei leaned against the wall, shoving both hands in his pockets. “About Xu Zhihu kicking up trouble with you, I’ve heard all about it. You don’t have to bother arguing with the likes of him.”

Xu Zhihu? Oh, that guy who had asked to compete with him just now.

What did Xu Zhihu tell him before the game? Just because their boss had let him go, he shouldn’t think that Xu Zhihu would do the same. Xu Zhihu’s boss was Li Bei. Looking at it this way, it seemed that the relationship between Li Bei and the original owner was pretty good.

Yu Baizhou said, “Forget it, it’s nothing.”

After saying that, Li Bei looked at him, eyes wide.

Li Bei knew Yu Baizhou’s temper very well. He encountered it quite often. To not have someone jump Xu Zhihu to beat him up should have already hit Yu Baizhou’s endurance limit. How could he be so generous to say it was nothing?

Seeing that Li Bei looked at himself like this, Yu Baizhou wondered if he had said the wrong thing again and knocked on 008 in his head. However, he didn’t catch an answer from 008, only hearing a ‘zi zi zi’ sound. He pondered over what had gone wrong with this broken system of his, then simply gave up.

Yu Baizhou said, “Having one more thing stack up is worse than having one less, I’m too lazy to bother with it.”

Li Bei was stunned, then seemed a little relieved. “Since you think this, then it’s okay.”

Yu Baizhou’s expression loosened.

Worried about spouting out more and more inconsistencies, Yu Baizhou found an excuse to return to the classroom.

Li Bei thought of something and asked him again, “Oh, when did you learn how to swim? Why didn’t I know?”

Yu Baizhou turned his head and replied, “Last holiday.”

Li Bei said helplessly, “You’re lying and talking with nonsense even with me*? You were stuck by my side last holiday, so when did you find time to learn?”

Yu Baizhou: “…”

The car has encountered the traffic jam*.

[T/N: “开车遇上堵车了”: idiom, meaning how YBZ has backed himself into a corner]

Yu Baizhou smiled. “I lied again, it was actually the holiday before the last.”

If he was blocked on the road again, then he really would be doomed.

With this, Li Bei nodded. “Acceptable.”

Fortunately, he was let go.

Li Bei watched Yu Baizhou return to the classroom, then slightly furrowed his brows.

Yu Baizhou’s character had changed a lot when compared to before. This made him unable to help but think of what had happened during the last holiday.

If all of this was because of that thing…

At the thought of this, Li Bei was full of self-blame.

Previously, Yu Baizhou had thought about maintaining a distance from He Yan. However, he was informed that he was required to stay behind with He Yan in the afternoon to publish the blackboard report*.

[T/N: “出黑板报”: translates to ‘blackboard newspaper’, which is essentially what it is. The blackboard has drawings and writing about to do with assigned theme; there’s some awesome ones that circulates around the internet sometimes]

“The blackboard report?” Yu Baizhou carried his school bag and had arrived at the door of the classroom. “I wasn’t notified in advance.”

The class leader looked awkward. “This was a sudden notice from the form teacher. Yu-shao, I really can’t do anything about it.”

Yu Baizhou turned his eyes back to He Yan, who was still in his seat. Thinking of being alone with He Yan, and then remembering what occured in the common room that afternoon, he began to inwardly panic. “This… Can we discuss changing individuals?”

“The pairings are matched according to the student number. Since last semester, the whole class has already done it, so now only you and He Yan are left.”

Yu Baizhou’s head was about to go bald. How could he already encounter such bad luck when he just arrived?

When the class leader saw his reluctant face, he said boldly, “If it’s really not okay… You can head back and I’ll do it for you.”

Yu Baizhou was incredibly moved and almost agreed, but when he thought about it, for a job that everyone had to share equally, why was he so embarrassed that he would even resort to ask the monitor to do it twice in a row? This was too inhumane!

So in the end, he stayed.

He returned to his seat and put his school bag back in place, then made a phone call to Uncle Li, his driver.

When the people in the classroom were almost gone, it was surprisingly quiet, with no sound from the hallway. Only the afterglow of the setting sun snuck in through the windows, adding some warmth to the empty classroom.

Yu Baizhou hung up his phone and daringly, while carefully, asked He Yan, “Shall we start the blackboard report?”

He Yan glanced at him. “En.”

The two quickly divided the work. He would write and He Yan would draw. Whoever finished their part first will help the other finish.

Yu Baizhou was initially very thankful that the strange Dage* was still willing to cooperate with himself, but soon realised he was very wrong.

[T/N: “大哥”/big brother]

He held the mentality of completing his work earlier, so he picked some meaningful texts in accordance with the theme, moved the stool underneath, and stood up to begin writing.

When his hands started aching, he just shook it out, then continued his work.

Just when he thought that He Yan should be done preparing materials for drawing, he looked back… He Yan was actually doing his homework!

He was doing his homework!!

While he was up here working hard on the blackboard, He Yan was actually secretly doing the homework assigned by the teacher today!!

Shit! He hasn’t even started!!

Yu Baizhou felt like this was unfair to the extreme. He reminded He Yan a few times, but the other party didn’t respond. After a quick look, he realized that the other party was wearing headphones?!

Yu Baizhou: “……”

Yu Baizhou began to fume.

Yu Baizhou took a deep breath. His mouth was very tired. He planned to do something to attract He Yan’s attention.

He changed his position and stood by where the other was supposed to draw, turned back and looked indifferently at He Yan with a cold face, then began comparing one hand to the blackboard.

The movement was so great that He Yan finally noticed him, taking a quick glance and removing an earphone.

Yu Baizhou drew a picture on the blackboard with one hand, trying to make himself look gentle. “Classmate He Yan, do you see what I’m doing?”

He Yan stared at the drawing on the blackboard for a few seconds. “…So ugly.”

Snap!

Yu Baizhou’s chalk that was in the middle of doodling small flowers shattered.

“I’m back.”

At night, Yu Baizhou walked into his villa, mumbled a greeting with a low voice, and walked straight into his bedroom.

Hearing the closing of the door, Fu Xia, sitting on the sofa, said to the person who was still dealing with business next to him, “Xiao-Zhou has been in the wrong mind these two days, and his mood seems to have changed a lot.”

Yu Chen replied to an email. “For example, his brain suddenly blowing up and pouring me a glass of water?”

Fu Xia held up the network cable. “Try saying that again.”

Yu Chen hurried to send off his last email, closed his laptop, and smiled. “I dare not.”

Returning to his room after washing up, Yu Baizhou jumped and fell into the soft velvet quilt.

He stayed quiet for five seconds, then picked up the pillow and began to beat up his duvet.

Ahhhhhhhh!!! So pissed, so pissed! Really super pissed off!!

Yu Baizhou thought of what happened in the afternoon and was about to die from anger.

He Yan, this guy, why was he like this?!?

This bastard, if he didn’t help, then whatever, but he dared to say his drawings were ugly?!?

What would he get out of this??

Ahhhh bastard!!!

You’re the one who draws ugly! Your younger and older brothers all draw ugly!!!

A knock on the door suddenly sounded from outside, and Yu Baizhou froze for half a second.

He quickly put back the pillows and drilled into his blanket, tidying up the messy quilt to pretend that nothing happened, then said, “Please, come in.”

The person who came in was his dad who held a bowl of still-steaming lotus soup in his hand.

“I saw the lights were on in your room, and came to give you something to drink.”

Lotus seed, clearing the heat and purging the fire*. Yu Baizhou felt that he particularly needed it.

[T/N: lotus seeds are beneficial to people with high blood pressure]

“Thank you, Dad.” Yu Baizhou sat up and took the lotus soup.

“Be careful, it’s hot.”

“En.”

Under Fu Xia’s gaze, Yu Baizhou scooped a lotus seed into his mouth. “Very sweet.”

“Delicious?”

“Delicious.”

Fu Xia sat to the side of the and asked with the tone of a concerned parent, “Xiao-Zhou, has anything happened in school recently?”

Yu Baizhou thought about it. He didn’t want to worry Fu Xia, so he shook his head.

A lot of things happened in school, but there was nothing worth making a big deal out of.

Fu Xia rested his mind and heart. “It is good if nothing happened.”

Recently, he had seen many news reports regarding schools and thought about how his child was still at an adolescent age. What happened these two days did not seem to be very stable. Fu Xia was worried that something had happened to him but he  was too stubborn to say. However, if he waited too long to ask, then the troubles that were kept in the child’s heart would have a negative influence, and eventually it would be too late to ask again.

Fu Xia looked at his son, who blew on a spoonful of lotus seeds before feeding himself. He was unsure whether it was an illusion or not, but lately he always felt that his child was much more sensible than in the past, as well as more clever.

If it was before the switch, even if Yu Baizhou had said nothing happened, Fu Xia still wouldn’t let it go. But now, looking at this dutiful face, he suddenly felt relieved.

Yu Baizhou finished drinking the lotus soup and obediently retracted into the quilt, leaving only half of his face exposed. Fu Xia turned on some ambient sleeping music, gently kissed him on the forehead, and said goodnight before leaving.

Listening to the elegant and soothing cello, a part of Yu Baizhou’s heart lit up.

The last time his parents gave a goodnight kiss was a distant memory for him.

Yu Baizhou was born in a happy family. He had parental love and lived a rich lifestyle, and was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. There was no one he met who didn’t envy him. But, happiness did not last forever. When he was nine years old, a sudden illness took his father’s life, and soon after, his mother also passed away. His family’s property was robbed by his ‘loved’ ones, and no one helped him deal with the loss of his parents. At that time, an uncle came forward to adopt him, but it was conditional. That is, all the possessions that belonged to the Yu family would be handed over to his uncle for safekeeping.

Yu family’s possessions. By then, he already had no possessions from the Yu family.

Uncle loved to gamble and was always chased by debtors. He followed his uncle’s family to many cities before they finally settled. The only reason for their settlement was because the son of his uncle and aunt had reached schooling age and couldn’t constantly change schools.

After the death of his parents, Yu Baizhou had always been a lone person. The uncle and his family loved each other, but it had nothing to do with him.

Some people say that blood keeps people binded to each other, but if Yu Baizhou had to think of how his uncle was good to him, then he could only say that at least he wasn’t abandoned.

The beautiful, gentle, and affectionate melody of the cello poured gently into his ears. Yu Baizhou drew his thoughts from his memories, raised his hand, and felt that there was still some warmth on his forehead. His eyes couldn’t help but redden.

The music that was set up came to an end, but Yu Baizhou was still unable to sleep.

In his mind, 008 came out and started to bumble around. “It is already past twelve, how come you aren’t sleeping?”

Yu Baizhou rolled over in his bed. “I can’t fall asleep.”

On one hand, he was almost moved to tears. On the other hand, he was angered out of his mind.

008 could read his attitude, and asked, “Are you still mad with that He Yan?”

Yu Baizhou told the truth. “En.”

Yu Baizhou said, “Me drawing poorly is the truth, but to directly tell me it’s ugly… He is the first.”

008: “……”

008: “The spitting of Huaqiao’s plaque against the Qiao dynasty is flat and sparse!*”

[T/N: “悖侨饲樯痰瓦拢忝槐匾话慵平稀”: I have absolutely no idea what 008 is saying here, so I just left the MTL version above. Just imagine 008 comforting YBZ by trash talking HY]

Yu Baizhou inhaled deeply and felt aggrieved.

008 relieved him for a while.

Thinking of something, Yu Baizhou asked 008: “Dongdong*, you tell me, this He Yan shouldn’t take up an important role in the book, right?”

[T/N: “洞洞”: translates to ‘hole hole’, I’m guessing this nickname comes from the two zeros as well as the double holes from the eight in ‘008’]

008 silently accepted ‘Dongdong’ as its nickname, then said, “According to my experiences, with a person like He Yan who has an extremely low EQ, you should believe me that if not an unimportant supporting role, his top career would stop at cannon fodder, or the kind of person can can be thrown away after use.”

Yu Baizhou excitedly asked, “Really?”

008: “Really!”

Hearing this, Yu Baizhou let go of his heart.

As long as he didn’t take up an important role, it was fine.

He didn’t want to be related to that bastard anymore.

……

Clock hands made a ticking sound as they turned bit by bit. The curtain of the night slowly pulled open as the day gradually woke up.

At half past six, along with the little rooster alarm clock, another sound appeared.

——”Congratulations to host, the introduction of the novel has been completely imported ahead of schedule.”

The author has something to say:

008 is preparing to die once it comes out.

    1. Vanilla Muse splits their chapters as they are translating many novels at the same time. Due to my mistake, they’ll be posting all of their stockpiled chapters and I’ll be finishing the rest of the novel 🙂

  3. Is He Yan going to make things difficult for Yu Baizhou? I hope not. But the plot has been downloaded now… so we’ll see how their interactions must be from now on.

    Thanks for the chapter!

    1. I post one chapter every Sunday and two if the scheduled one is short; I’m planning on stocking up so I can post more per week in the future, but that’s not possible at the moment as I’m busy with school for now :))
