TSIFB Chapter 15

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
At this time, why did you appear here

Back home, Yu Baizhou reminisced on the scene underneath the street lamp. His face unconsciously turned a little red. Although he didn’t notice it before, now that he thought about it, he suddenly felt that their position before seemed a little ambiguous.

Leaning so close together, so much so that they could even feel the other person’s breath when talking.

After a while, he popped his face out from his blanket.

No, in fact, there was nothing ambiguous about them. Being that close was to observe the other party’s emotions better, and to see whether this person was sincere or not sincere. This was completely normal, ah. He Yan didn’t trust him, so he naturally had to lean in closer to observe him. He was afraid that He Yan didn’t believe in himself, so he stared straight into his eyes when he spoke.

Besides, what was so ambiguous about two straight men??

Yu Baizhou was almost speechless towards himself. His previous vision had always been normal. Now that it was like this, he felt that he must have been affected by his dads.

He took care of his thoughts before getting up to take out the bag of coloured hard candies that Fu Xia had gifted him once from the drawer, putting it in the side pocket of his school bag, then returned to his bed. He turned off the small lamp by the head of his bed and closed his eyes, falling into a sleep.

The next day, Yu Baizhou arrived at school early in the morning. He Yan’s desk was empty. When the morning class ended, He Yan’s position was still empty. He really didn’t come to school.

Yu Baizhou leaned against the wall, one hand holding a textbook, one hand on the edge of his desk, and looked at the empty seat near the back. He didn’t know whether it was because he had constantly observed He Yan for such a long time, but suddenly not seeing He Yan today made him feel somewhat unused to it.

Tu Gaoming looked at his boss, who was staring at He Yan’s empty seat in a daze. He clicked his tongue and asked Che Cong next to him, “Has the relationship between Boss and He Yan really become better?”

Che Cong gave him a squinted glance. “You just found out?”

“En.” Tu Gaoming had really only just found out, otherwise back during the rumour debacle he wouldn’t have done that thing that ended with him getting cleaned up by his boss. But, he was curious. “Those two… When did it start, ah?”

Che Cong clasped his hands together. “That time in the cafeteria.”

Tu Gaoming was shocked. “Ah?!”

Che Cong lifted his head up and looked at Yu Baizhou through thick lenses. After a while, he took off his glasses, put them on the desk, and said to Tu Gaoming, “In the future, just be polite to He Yan.”

After school ended, Yu Baizhou sat in the car. While turning the corner by the school, he said, “Uncle Li, I won’t be going back this afternoon. Please send me to the hospital.”

Uncle Li replied in affirmation.

On the road, Yu Baizhou made a phone call to Fu Xia and informed him about not going home for dinner in the evening. Learning that he was going to the hospital to visit his classmate’s mother, Fu Xia reminded him to bring some nutritional products and to not go empty-handed. Yu Baizhou obediently followed the orders.

At the hospital’s entrance, Yu Baizhou let Uncle Li return home first and went to the supermarket opposite the hospital.

He picked out a box of nutrient powder for patients along with a gift basket full of a wide variety of fruits.

The nutrition powder was for He Yan’s mother, and the fruit was for He Yan.

After paying for the items, he was walking out of the supermarket holding shopping bags when he suddenly thought of something. Shifting his school bag to the front, he took out the small bag of colourful candy from the side pocket and picked out two strawberry flavoured candy, slipping them into his uniform’s pocket.

Before arriving, he didn’t ask He Yan about visits as he didn’t have He Yan’s contact information. If he came and went as he pleased, would He Yan get angry?

Yu Baizhou reached the door of the ward where He Rou lived. He carefully extended his head a little inside the room, but found that the bed was empty.

Eh? Where’s the person?

While he was stuck in his thoughts, from behind, there was suddenly an additional breath close to him. He turned back subconsciously, raised his head, and was met with He Yan looking at him from above.

He immediately drew in a sharp breath.

…Fuck, too close.

With his self-taught lessons from the previous night, Yu Baizhou was sure he had not misunderstood anything at this moment. He took a second to straighten out his mind.

“Why did you come?” He Yan asked.

Seeing that there was no trace of anger on He Yan’s face, Yu Baizhou relaxed. He said smoothly, “My dads aren’t home today and there’s nothing to do if I go back, so I came to see Auntie. How is Auntie’s health today?”

He Yan bypassed him and walked in the room. “It’s fine.”

Yu Baizhou followed him in. He Yan poured him a cup of warm water.

As he was given the cup of warm water, Yu Baizhou resisted the urge to say that he wanted to drink something cold. “Oh, right.” He handed the things in his hands over to He Yan. “Although it’s not some rich and valuable thing, these gifts are from my heart. I hope Auntie can get well soon.”

He Yan did not take it immediately. Instead, he hesitated for a few seconds, before reaching out to receive the bags and putting them to the side. With a low voice, he said, “Thank you.”

In his past life, when it came to the death of his mother, He Yan never received a single blessing from others. He wished for He Rou to be well, but it seemed like he was the only one in the world to wish for this.

In this life, apart from the informed Pan Yi, Yu Baizhou was the first.

Yu Baizhou was holding the paper cup up to his mouth when he heard the “thank you”.

This was the first time he heard “thank you” from He Yan’s mouth. At this stage, where he needed to increase He Yan’s favourability value, to hear these two words made him truly overjoyed. This meant he was drifting further away from a death in the abyss of vengeful hell.

Suddenly remembering, Yu Baizhou slipped a hand in his pocket, and when he took it out, there were two strawberry flavoured candies in his hand. He gave them to He Yan. “Nuo*, for you.”

[T/N: “诺”: here]

Two sweets that were packaged in light pink and shiny wrappers laid in his palm.

He Yan asked him, “Since I didn’t go to school, you specially brought it to me?”

Yu Baizhou originally didn’t feel like anything was wrong, but when asked by He Yan like this, he suddenly felt embarrassed.

He asked back three times in succession, “Ah? What are you thinking? How could I be so idle? I just had some in my pocket by chance, so I gave it to you.”

He Yan received the candies. The lifted corners of his lips were imperceptible.

Yu Baizhou waited until He Rou came back, staying with her for a while before setting off back to school. Before leaving, he specifically asked He Yan for his number to facilitate future contact.

The next day, He Yan still didn’t come to school.

Yu Baizhou was very glad that he listened to his words.

The weather would not be considered good. It had been like that the evening; the sun was covered by dark and gloomy clouds, and seemed close enough to touch the top of their heads. Yu Baizhou sat in the car and stared at the sky outside, unable to speak out about his anguish.

Once it became night, the sky started to let down a few drops of rain. The ‘didi dada*’ sounds seemed to act as a countdown for the tragedy in the near future.

[T/N: “滴滴答答”: onomatopoeia, alike to a ticking noise]

Yu Baizhou went to bed after washing up. The curtains were not fully closed, and he gazed out at the light rain through the window before letting out a light sigh.

Tonight was the last night.

Even until the early morning hours, Yu Baizhou was still unable to fall asleep.

008: “I feel like you need me.”

At this time, 008, who had shrunken into its shell once again for the past few days, finally came out to bumble around.

Yu Baizhou heard it and wanted to hit someone. “You still know how to come out? I thought you went to travel the world.”

008: “Didn’t I just go back for a few days to repair myself?”

008 could read his thoughts and knew what he was thinking. It said to him, “The life and death of the characters in the book are set by the author. He Rou’s death is just a plot device used to make the protagonist become stronger in the future, this plot point has nothing to do with you. Whether if she stays or if she leaves, the protagonist will not harbour any thoughts of revenge towards you. There’s no need to weigh your heart down.”

Yu Baizhou, who was familiar with the plot, was well aware that this plot point had nothing to do with him. However, knowing was still knowing. He knew that a person close to him was about to leave, and so the discomfort in his heart was uncontrollable.

Regarding the departure of He Rou, there was no detailed description in the book. It only said that in the early morning of the day, she had left quietly, leaving He Yan with a single regret for the rest of his life.

Yu Baizhou was curious. “Tell me, there must be some kind of emergency treatment even in the middle of the night, right? When she became ill, was there really not enough time to implement any measures?”

008: “The hospital has emergency treatment.”

Yu Baizhou, “Exactly. That’s why this is very strange.”

008: “In fact, it’s not so strange. After all, it wasn’t because she didn’t receive first aid that caused her to leave in the first place.”

Yu Baizhou’s pupils dilated in shock, but he still maintained the rhythm from the previous question. “Is that so? Then what is the actual reason that made her leave?”

008: “Ah, she was victimised…”

Yu Baizhou froze.

System: “Shit…”

It slipped up.

Yu Baizhou sat up from the bed. “You, say it again!”

008: “No, this is a very important plot point in the book. Even though it’s you, you still can’t intervene manually.”

Yu Baizhou’s voice fluctuated, “I won’t intervene, I promise not to intervene. I just want to know the truth.”

008 was tangled up for a moment. “…Fine, this is the case…”

Two minutes later, Yu Baizhou frowned and blindly groped at his bedside table for his phone. 008 asked him what he has doing, to which he honestly replied, “I’m going to tell He Yan.”

008 became anxious. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t intervene?!”

Yu Baizhou gripped his phone while saying, “Listen well, I’m not intervening. I can use the information I have on hand to do anything I want to do, this was the principle you told me at the very beginning. As soon as you had told me the information, the information was already mine, understand?”

008: “…”

It was fooled.

Yu Baizhou made several calls to He Yan, but it was a pity that the line was constantly unable to get through. Yu Baizhou glanced at the time. It was currently 12:05 in the morning. If he remembered correctly, because He Rou’s departure had dealt a huge blow to He Yan, he clearly remembered the time when his mother died. As a result, the novel had mentioned ‘12:32 in the morning’ many times.

From his house to the hospital, the trip would take around 10 minutes, and that would only be if there were no traffic jams. Yu Baizhou calculated the time. If he departed now…maybe it would be too late to stop everything.

If he had never learnt about this, then he wouldn’t have intervened. However, now that he knew, he would never sit idly at the side to spectate.

Without using too much time to think it over, Yu Baizhou hurriedly took his phone and went downstairs to call for Uncle Li before going out.

By the time Fu Xia and Yu Chen heard the news, there was already no one in the living room.

The trees on both sides of the car flew behind them. On the way to the hospital, Yu Baizhou kept calling He Yan non-stop, but the other side never answered.

008 told him that the author of the original book had two versions of He Rou’s death. The first version was that He Rou had been injected with toxic chemicals to kill her in the early hours of the morning, and because he had people in the background investigate, He Yan had known the real reason why his mother had passed away a long time ago; the second version was that He Rou’s condition suddenly worsened, and so she died.

008 said that because his appearance in the plot broke the originally balanced space energy, it resulted in energy instability, therefore it was possible for either of these situations to occur.

However, ever since 008 first answered him with its affirmative tone, Yu Baizhou had already guessed: this wasn’t a possible situation, it was a definite situation!

He Yan still hadn’t answered the phone.

If there was no He Yan, then there was only him.

As soon as the car stopped, Yu Baizhou bolted towards the inpatient department.

Along the way, he was so nervous that his heart was almost about to jump out. He kept praying in his heart, he must be in time! He must be in time!

Finally reaching his destination, he slammed open the door of the ward——

In the quiet room, only the medical instruments made a steady and regular drip, drip, drip sound. He Rou was calmly lying on the bed. There was nothing wrong.

He caught up.

Yu Baizhou’s hanging heart finally had a chance to fall. He leaned against the door frame halfway and felt like his legs were close to being paralysed.

While he was busy confirming whether if He Rou was truly okay, Yu Baizhou had been too distracted to immediately notice the person standing in front of the hospital bed.

Yu Baizhou: “He…Yan?”

Time seemed to stop abruptly at this moment.

He Yan stared at him with terrifying eyes and spoke with a voice filled with ice. “At this time, why did you appear here?”
