TSIFB Chapter 20

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
Keep to yourself and sleep

Pan Yi thought that his ears were going bad. He asked Yu Baizhou, “What did you just say?”

Yu Baizhou hugged his blanket. “My tent also broke. Uncle Pan said I can come stay with you guys.”

A few minutes ago, Yu Baizhou was deep in thought inside his tent when he suddenly discovered that there was a small tear in the corner of the tent. He initially had wanted to patch up the hole, but when he crouched down to fix it, he became unbalanced, and accidentally toppled over. The originally small tear was ripped into a hole that allowed mosquitoes to enter and leave as they pleased.

He also didn’t want this, but who knew that his life would be so lively and dramatic, to forcibly create such an opportunity for him.

So, in the end, he appeared here.

Pan Yi was speechless. He felt that Yu Baizhou had definitely done this intentionally but could not figure out Yu Baizhou’s purpose for doing it.

Pan Yi asked He Yan for his opinion. He Yan looked at the boy standing by the entrance, hugging a blanket in a pair of shorts. A little bit of helplessness appeared in his eyes.

Yu Baizhou stood by the opening, looking a little innocent.

At night, the wind blowing by the lake was very cool. After getting permission, Yu Baizhou hurried to slip inside.

Now that there were three boys squeezed together inside, the sleeping positions needed to be reassigned.

Yu Baizhou thought about it for a bit, put his own blanket right down the middle, and suggested, “I’m skinnier than both of you, so I’ll sleep in the middle. It’ll take up less space.”

Pan Yi immediately exclaimed, “Who says you can!”

He Yan: “No.”

Pan Yi and He Yan answered at almost the exact same time.

Yu Baizhou looked at He Yan, then at Pan Yi, unable to understand why these two responded so strongly.

Pan Yi noticed that He Yan had also objected, and instantly understood what his family’s Yan-ge meant: he had no desire to sleep while being squeezed against Yu Baizhou. As a result, he resisted even more. “Hear that? I disagree, He Yan also disagrees, so don’t expect to be able to rush between the two of us. Besides, I own this space, so I get the final say.”

Yu Baizhou had initially been scheming to find a way to insert himself between the two, but when Pan Yi spoke up, he thought that, indeed, this space belonged to the other, so he gave Pan Yi the control over this matter. “Fine. Then, how do you want to split?”

Pan Yi tidied up the thickest mattress cover in the tent, which was specially prepared for He Yan. Although there were inflatable mattresses laid down in the tent, having a soft cover and blanket will always make sleeping more comfortable.

He dragged the thickest mattress cover over to the very far right of the tent and, speaking with the authority of the tent owner, began to assign places. “I’ll sleep in the middle, you sleep near the entrance, and He Yan will sleep on the other side. These are the designated positions.”

The mattress cover wasn’t big enough and couldn’t be evenly spread out within the tent, so the area near the entrance of the text had no cushioning of the cover, only the thin inflatable mattress.

Pan Yi thought, not only will this positioning be able to separate Yu Baizhou from his family’s Yan-ge, it can also make Yu Baizhou suffer a little, so why not?

Yu Baizhou looked over at his assigned spot and knew at a glance that Pan Yi did this on purpose. But, what could he say? No matter what, the person was still the owner of the tent. Besides, who was the one who had effortlessly turned a tear in his own tent into a hole?

“Fine, I’ll sleep on the outside.” Yu Baizhou sniffed and prepared to hug his blanket over to his area.

Looking at Yu Baizhou’s resigned appearance, Pan Yi suddenly felt his mood become refreshingly good.

At this point, He Yan, who had not spoken at all during the exchange, spoke up. He faced Pan Yi. “Who agreed for you to sleep in the middle?”

Yu Baizhou saw that there was a possibility for the situation to turn around and pricked up his ears.

Pan Yi looked at his family’s Yan-ge, completely puzzled.

He Yan pointed to the left side of the tent, the sleeping area that only had the inflatable mattress. He said to Pan Yi, “You sleep over there.”

Pan Yi: “…?!”

In the end, the assigned sleeping areas were like so: Pan Yi slept on the outside, Yu Baizhou on the inside, and He Yan was sandwiched between the two. Each of the three used their own blankets.

When Pan Yi tearfully laid down on the outermost inflatable mattress, he very much regretted that he had not moved the thick mattress cover over to the outer side earlier on.

The lights in the tent have been extinguished for a long time, and lake’s surroundings was silent in the night. Only the very faint sound of running water could be heard.

Yu Baizhou, who was not used to sleeping in tents, was still awake. He was lying down quite uncomfortably and wanted to turn over. As a result, halfway through turning over, Pan Yi moved slightly by the entrance of the tent. Afraid that he would accidentally wake people up, he was scared into not making any sudden movements.

After waiting for a while, Pan Yi breathing finally straightened again, and he continued to adjust his sleeping position.

The space was too narrow, and it was difficult to turn over.

Sure enough, for three big boys to squeeze in one tent was hard to manage.

The night wasn’t entirely dark. A little ray of moonlight broke through the tent, settling on He Yan’s long and thick eyelashes.

Yu Baizhou’s attention was attracted by the moonlight and couldn’t sleep. He simply observed He Yan underneath the dim glow.

He stared at the beautiful face, unaffected by the darkness of the night, and couldn’t help but admire it in his heart. The facial features were delicate and exquisite, his skin was so smooth that it was unfair, and even his eyebrows were that long.

Thinking up to this point, he stretched his fingers over to compare, then raised his hand above his face, observing the distance between his thumb and index finger. He commented in his heart, this is a few centimetres ah, this length is really too amazing.

Appreciating a good-looking face will never get tiring. Yu Baizhou turned to face the sleeping He Yan, propping up his chin with one hand, and couldn’t get enough of He Yan’s sleeping face.

“How lovely, ah.” The words he kept in his heart were carelessly spoken aloud.

Suddenly, Pan Yi turned over, dropping a hand on He Yan’s body, and even mumbled in his sleep, “I’m greedy for your face, ah, Ge…”

Yu Baizhou listened in, hearing Pan Yi’s improper thoughts towards He Yan. Recalling Pan Yi’s poor attitude towards himself earlier on, he ruthlessly pushed Pan Yi’s hand off He Yan’s body, whispering, “What greed, just keep to yourself and sleep*.”

[T/N: “馋什么馋,好好睡你的觉去”]

Yu Baizhou continued to stare at He Yan for a while longer, before his drowsiness slowly caught up. After yawning, he remembered the “good night” He Yan had texted him the night before, so he breathed out a quiet “good night” to the sleeping He Yan, then lightly shifted his position, and fell asleep.

The sound of overlapping water continued in the background. He Yan’s thick eyelashes that glowed in the moonlight shivered, and if one looked down, they could see a pair of reddened ears.

……

The holiday period passed quickly. After returning from the short vacation, Yu Baizhou only spent a few days at home before school started again.

Inside the classroom early in the morning, Tu Gaoming, who was still unused to being suddenly thrown back into his studies, complained unendingly, and it was the same for most of the surrounding students. Only the few good students began to open their books and go through questions amidst the complaining people.

Although Yu Baizhou was already familiar with the subjects taught in high school, there was an exam that would be coming up in the next few days, and since the knife will turn blunt when neglected for a long time*, he also pulled out his textbooks and began to brush through the questions.

[T/N: “刀不用久了始终会钝”: if you don’t practise consistently, you’ll forget how to do it]

When Tu Gaoming came over and saw the hard-working Yu Baizhou working on a paper, he initially wore a face akin to one seeing a ghost, before remembering the reason why his family’s boss became like this in the first place. He regained his fiery soul and also brought out his mathematics books to revise. Yu Baizhou was very pleased with this result.

The classroom quickly filled up as more students entered. Yu Baizhou glanced back and found that He Yan had not arrived yet.

Since they went out to camp, the two haven’t had the chance to see each other. It has already been many days.

A person came in through the back door. Yu Baizhou looked over to see who it was. Not He Yan, but the girl sitting in front of him.

Yu Baizhou turned back to his book and continued to brush questions. Not long after, the excited chatter between two or three girls came from somewhere at the front.

“Ahhh, let me tell you guys, I just saw a very handsome boy by the door, and he was wearing our school’s uniform.”

“Our school’s uniform?! Who? How did I not hear about this?”

“I don’t know, it should be a transfer student, ba. But, simply put, it is completely impossible to describe that face with words!”

“Heavens, is it really that attractive? I really want to see it!”

The back entrance opened once again.

“Sisters*!!! The boy you’re talking about, is he the one who just came into our class?!”

[T/N: “姐妹”/jie-mei: older and younger sisters]

“Came into our class?”

The three girls collectively turned their heads to the back of the classroom, and the eavesdropping Yu Baizhou also followed their sight.

A boy came in through the back door, who appeared to be around 190cm tall. Because he had probably rushed to enter on time, there was still little redness on his face. He was only wearing a loose short sleeve, forgoing the school jacket.

“Ahhhh, it’s him! It’s him!!!”

Although the student hadn’t moved much when coming in, he still caught the attention of the whole class.

“My God, so handsome!”

“Is he a transfer student?”

“He is absolutely my ideal type!”

The student acted like he was unable to hear the gossip around him. He walked straight into the classroom and subconsciously glanced at Yu Baizhou.

Yu Baizhou hadn’t withdrawn his gaze, and so the two people’s eyes met.

Yu Baizhou couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. This person was really too handsome.

He Yan froze for half a second and was about to look away, but before it was too late, Yu Baizhou raised his hand in the view of the entire class and greeted him loudly. “Morning, He Yan!”

Hearing the boy’s name, the entire class’ jaw dropped.

It only took that one morning for He Yan to be the hot topic amongst all students. Some people had secretly taken many photos of him and posted them online. Those photos were now estimated to have been downloaded in thousands of phones.

In the Class 8, Yi Tian propped his legs on the desk in front of him, scrolling through the hottest posts in the forum.

He clicked on a photo in a post and asked the boy behind him who was massaging his shoulders, “This person is He Yan? The one who is constantly at the throat with Yu Baizhou’s stupidity, that He Yan?”

The boy leaned over to look at the picture. “That’s right.”

He had already seen this post early in the morning.

Yi Tian zoomed in on the photo and observed He Yan’s face. Without knowing why, some irritable emotions came up from his heart.

During meal time at noon in the cafeteria, Pan Yi desperately confessed his wrongdoings to He Yan, “I’m wrong, Ge, I couldn’t see clearly and took the wrong pair of uniform…”

Yesterday, Pan Yi spent the day at the He Yan’s house. When he went back to his own house at night, he had mistakenly taken He Yan’s school uniform for his own, and brought it back with him. Because of his mistake, He Yan was almost late for school this morning, and in the end, still hadn’t managed to find his uniform.

Pan Yi pulled on He Yan’s arm. “Ge, you* are a big person with big obstacles, so there’s no need to deal with me, ah?”

[T/N: the polite ‘you’]

If such a mistake was committed a month ago, Pan Yi’s salary would have been missing for the next few months. But, now was not the past. He Yan would just get a headache and would be too lazy to bother with him.

Receiving forgiveness, Pan Yi continued to cheer up a brother.

At this time, there weren’t too many people in the cafeteria. The two finished with their meals and got up to exit the room. Halfway through, He Yan was suddenly pushed back by a person walking in the opposite direction, acting as if he was hitting the air. The person’s face had no trace of apology, and instead he squinted at He Yan before continuing his walk.

Clearly seeing the face of the person who hit him, He Yan frowned unconsciously.

In a bad mood, Pan Yi shouted after the boy, “Hey, you just fucking ran into someone and don’t even have the conscience to apologise? Do you have face?”

Yi Tian turned back, irritated, and looked back at Pan Yi. “I didn’t do it on purpose, so what are you yelling for? Fucking idiot.”

Finished, Yi Tian slid his hands into his pockets and prepared to leave.

“??? Fuck, this kid!”

Pan Yi pulled up his sleeves and was about to rush up to relieve the roaring fire in his guts. However, before he was able to achieve this, he saw Yi Tian, who had just taken two steps out, face-planted to the ground.

Yi Tian furiously exclaimed, “Fuck!”Next to him, Yu Baizhou, who was lounging on a seat, withdrew his foot. With a cheek rested on one hand, he peered down at the face-planted person by his feet. “What are you yelling ‘fuck’ for? You should be benevolent. After all, I didn’t do it on purpose.”

  1. Defend your man! Our MC isn’t a former big boss bully for nothing! Well, his earnestness at attempting to erase the original good’s sins is admirable, truly. I just live for the petty revenge of tripping the jerk and flicking Pan Yi’s hands away! I get your fascination, you face-con, but He Yan isn’t yours!

Thanks for your hard work translating!

  2. Embarrassed He Yan is really cute! He’s like the proverbial frog being cooked in warm water, it’s just that the cook has no idea what he’s doing (and what the end result will be) 😉
