TSIFB Chapter 22

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
Let us follow how we are in your thoughts

Yu Baizhou’s eyes turned into crescents and he thanked He Yan.

It was only after hearing Yu Baizhou’s voice that allowed He Yan to return to reality.

At this time, Pan Yi also walked over to this space, no, it should be said that he finally found this space.

When they watched the game just now, his family’s Yan-ge was still standing beside him. So, when the game ended, why was the person next to him suddenly missing? Fortunately, He Yan was tall, and with that extremely recognizable face, he didn’t have to exert much effort to find that person.

It was just that he didn’t expect He Yan to come over to find Yu Baizhou, and after seeing the cap on Yu Baizhou’s head, he couldn’t help but shout swear words in his head.

He Yan had always disliked other people touching his personal belongings, so what kind of wind was blowing today*? He actually lent his cap to Yu Baizhou?!

[T/N: or, ‘what the hell is going on’]

Wait, wait, this cap, could it be that Yu Baizhou overpowered him?

But immediately after, Pan Yi rejected his naive thoughts. What a fun joke, after all, the current He Yan is no longer the same as the former He Yan.

As for the horrifying personality of his family’s President He——no one can move him, only he can move others.

Although, because of the situation in the cafeteria at noon, as well as the basketball game just now, Pan Yi’s impression of Yu Baizhou has changed to some degree. But after recalling what Yu Baizhou had done before, he was still wary of him.

Tu Gaoming remembered Yu Baizhou’s poor complexion on the court just before, and caringly spoke up, “Boss, didn’t you look ill just now? What’s wrong? Do you need to go to the nurse’s office?”

If Tu Gaoming didn’t speak about it then it probably would’ve been okay, but once Tu Gaoming reminded him, Yu Baizhou felt his stomach start to churn again.

He placed his hands over his stomach. Although it didn’t hurt as much now, just to be safe, he felt that he should still go to get some medicine before coming back.

Before Yu Baizhou could open his mouth, He Yan turned and said to Tu Gaoming, “I’ll take him to the nurse’s office.”

Yu Baizhou and the others, including Pan Yi, heard him say this and froze on the spot.

He Yan looked at Yu Baizhou and said, “Let’s go.”

When Li Bei arrived, Yu Baizhou and He Yan had already left.

Hearing that it was He Yan once again, Li Bei’s eyebrows rose without him knowing.

He handed the apple juice he had prepared for Yu Baizhou over to Tu Gaoming. “Give this to your boss later.”

“Oh, okay.” Tu Gaoming quickly took it.

After Li Bei left, Tu Gaoming stared at his retreating figure, wondering why the other was suddenly so unhappy.

Yu Baizhou went to see the nurse. There wasn’t really a big problem, he had just eaten something bad earlier, so he took some medicine and left with He Yan.

During class time, the school campus was very quiet, and there were only a few people wandering around. On the way back, the two walked side by side together.

After a while, He Yan said, “Don’t be so impulsive next time.”

Yu Baizhou didn’t quite understand. “What?”

He Yan said to him, “Don’t you know Yi Tian’s identity? If you are like this to him, it won’t bring your any benefits.”

Yu Baizhou naturally knew Yi Tian’s identity. He nodded. “I know, but my life doesn’t depend on him. Why should I be afraid of him?”

He Yan thought for a while, then said, “He’s not worth a trip through muddy waters*.”

[T/N: or, ‘not worth getting involved with’]

There were many things he couldn’t tell Yu Baizhou directly. For example, Yi Tian’s heart for revenge was very heavy, and his dark personality made it difficult to tell what could happen, so in the end he could only say, “Don’t provoke him. The farther you are away from him, the better. Understand? “

Yu Baizhou still didn’t quite understand, but since He Yan had already said this, and since he thought that he wouldn’t have to deal with Yi Tian anymore in the future, he nodded.

Time passed quickly and the week was over.

In the weekend, neither Yu Chen nor Fu Xia were around, and the housekeeper auntie would only come when it was time to prepare their meals. Yu Baizhou was stuck home, alone and bored out of his mind.

He crouched in front of the TV, watching the food channel while eating his snacks.

【Strawberries, also called cranberries, raspberries, ground berries, are a type of red fruit*. They originate from Europe. The exterior appearance of strawberries is a red heart-shaped fruit. It is delicious and tender, juicy and pulp, sweet and sour, and has a special rich fruit aroma. Due to the excellent and vibrant colour, aroma, taste, and its high nutritional value…】

[T/N: these names are obviously not correct, but it turns out there are so many more names for strawberries in Chinese than I thought, so I just used the other English name for each term]

Strawberry?

Ah! He Yan.

To think of He Yan when he sees strawberries, this feeling was quite wonderful.

It was mentioned in the book that because He Yan had no friends when he was in high school, he either took care of He Rou in the hospital or stayed at home by himself in the weekends.

If the other was at home alone, would he be bored out of his mind like Yu Baizhou?

Yu Baizhou thought up to here and reached out for his phone on the table, then laid down on the sofa to call He Yan.

He Yan’s afternoon nap in comfortable silence was interrupted by the sudden ringing of his phone. Thinking it was Pan Yi again, he answered the phone with an irritated tone, “I’ll say it again, stop calling. You decide what to eat, don’t bother me.”

Yu Baizhou held his phone up to his ears, a little dumbfounded. “Eh?”

Hearing Yu Baizhou’s voice, He Yan was fully awake immediately. He looked at his phone’s screen then sat up, slightly annoyed. “Sorry, I thought someone was harassing me over the phone.”

“Ah, oh, it’s okay. I thought I called the wrong number, hehe, as long as it’s the right one then it’s fine.”

“Something up?”

Yu Baizhou rolled around on the sofa. “Are you home today? Since there’s an exam next week, I was thinking if I can go over to review with you if you’re available.”

After some period of time, Yu Baizhou felt that his relationship with He Yan has progressed very much, so it shouldn’t be an excessive request to ask to go and review or do something else at his house. The main point was that he was so bored he was about to explode!

“Now?” He Yan asked.

“It’ll probably take me half an hour to get ready, so maybe in around an hour.”

He Yan looked at his surrounding. “Two hours ba, I also need some time.”

It will take some time to clean up the mess in his room made by Pan Yi last night.

Yu Baizhou replied over the phone, “Okay!”

The two exchanged addresses, then each began to prepare for the other person.

He Yan made a call to Pan Yi, who answered the phone quickly.

Pan Yi happily spoke into his phone, “Ge, are you too impatient to wait? Haha, I’ve already bought the hot pot base. I’ll come over right away!”

He Yan raised a hand to his neck and rolled it. “Don’t come over today.”

Pan Yi wore a stunned expression. “What??”

He Yan went over to the refrigerator and took out a can of iced fruit beer. “I have to go out to do something. That’s all you’re getting.”

He Yan hung up.

Pan Yi, who had a dove released in his face*, was dumbfounded. He Yan, who had hung up the phone, turned to see the pile of snack debris scattered across the table…he wanted to clean up Pan Yi.

[T/N: idiom, means how one has broken a promise/failed to show up to an appointment]

In the villa, Yu Baizhou put the review materials for various subjects into his school bag then slid a small bag of carefully selected candy into his pocket. When the time seemed appropriate, he set off to He Yan’s house.

His house and He Yan’s were less than half an hour away by car. He was dropped off in front of a farmer’s market. He went in for a round and when he came out, he held some fresh vegetables and meat in his hands.

The people who didn’t know him even thought he was a resident here.

The community where He Yan’s family lived was along an old-looking street. The houses on the side were worn down buildings, which appeared very lively and grounded.

He followed the steps to the address using his phone and successfully found He Yan’s residence.

This was the first time he has gone to a classmate’s house to play.

He stood at the entrance, slightly nervous as he raised a hand to knock on the door.

He Yan had just taken a shower when there was the sound of knocking. Hearing the movement, he quickly slipped on a jacket before heading to the entrance.

When he opened the door and saw person outside, He Yan couldn’t help but freeze on the spot.

The person outside the door was carrying a schoolbag with cap fitted on his head and wearing a large gray hooded sweater. He obviously didn’t have a short stature, but upon seeing him, he inexplicably seemed somewhat small…and very cute.

Yu Baizhou greeted He Yan, but for some reason, He Yan didn’t respond for a long time. He raised a hand and tried to attract He Yan’s attention. “Hello? Hi? Friend? What are you looking at?”

[T/N: Hello and hi was in English in the raws (cute)]

He Yan returned to reality, eyes unconsciously shifting away. “Come in.”

Yu Baizhou walked in and found that although He Yan’s house wasn’t very large and didn’t have much furniture, everything was neatly arranged and looked very clean and tidy all throughout.

Reminded of the things in his hand, he handed the groceries to He Yan. “Oh, I saw a supermarket when I got out of the car, so I bought some things for you along the way.”

The truth was, Yu Baizhou did not buy it along the way. It was mentioned in the book that although He Yan could cook, in order to save money, he would always eat casually on weekends. Sometimes it was a few slices of bread, sometimes it was cheap instant noodles. Whatever it was, anything he ate was all very miserable. Yu Baizhou felt that he already had enough pocket money, so he thought about buying some food for He Yan to keep at home, so as to not let He Yan eat all those snacks.

He Yan took the bag and found a variety of ingredients in it.

Yu Baizhou pointed out the groceries to He Yan one by one. “The tomatoes are still very fresh. Judging by the looks, they should have been picked this morning, and can be kept to eat later, but the fatty beef rolls have already been frozen for quite some time, so try not to leave it for too long. If you’re hungry, just cook and eat it. There’s also…”

He Yan listened on as Yu Baizhou spouted information about each ingredient seriously. There was a little smile in his eyes. “It sounds like you know a lot about cooking?”

“Get rid of the ‘it sounds like’.” Yu Baizhou confidently said, “Not only do I know how to cook, anything I make is delicious.”

He Yan looked on with a touch of disbelief. “Is that right?”

Yu Baizhou felt that he was underestimated. “??? What kind of expression are you wearing?”

He Yan flat-out admitted, “It’s an ‘I don’t believe you’ expression.”

Upon hearing this, Yu Baizhou’s desire to prove himself kicked in. “Don’t believe? You really don’t believe me? No, now I have to show you my hands. Have you eaten lunch yet? If not, I’ll cook for you right now.”

Yu Baizhou rolled up his sleeves and was just about to go look for the kitchen when He Yan held his arms, stopping the motion.

He looked back.

He Yan said, “I’ve already eaten lunch and there’ll be enough time to show me at dinner. Didn’t you come here to learn? Let’s go through our books first.”

Yu Baizhou went through the plan in his head. He supposed it could work.

After a while…

Wait, didn’t this mean he would have to stay at He Yan’s house for dinner?

Forget it, if he has to stay then he might as well stay. He can just inform his dad through a quick phone call later.

The two set up their learning environment for a while and reviewed the materials together in the living room. There was only one table which was taken over by tall stacks of reading materials for high school students. The two sat face to face and worked on their own papers. Occasionally, one of them would encounter a difficult decision and the two would exchange tips.

Halfway through, Yu Baizhou yawned, sleepy from the lack of an afternoon nap. Seeing how He Yan was studying very seriously, he didn’t have the heart to bother the other so he quietly leaned back on the sofa to take a nap.

He Yan flipped through a book and heard the breathing behind him gradually become even. He turned away from the book and looked back.

Yu Baizhou laid on the sofa, leaning on his head, one arm hanging down naturally from the edge of the sofa. He was fast asleep.

There was a light breeze coming in from the balcony. Wind blew through the hair of the person asleep on the sofa, gently fluttering each strand.

He Yan stood up, going into his bedroom to retrieve a blanket to cover Yu Baizhou before settling against the sofa and picking up the book to continue reading.

When Yu Baizhou woke up, the dusk was almost completely under the horizon and only the distant sky had a slight orange tinge.

He sat up from the sofa and the blanket on his body fell to his waist. He rubbed his eyes, feeling a little dazed.

He Yan stood by the kitchen’s doorway, hugging his arms and saying, “Finally awake? I thought you were planning to spend the night at my house.”

Yu Baizhou regained his spirit and looked at the colour of the sky outside. “Ahhhhh, what time is it?!”

He Yan checked the time calmly. “Half past six. It’s not dark yet.”

Yu Baizhou covered his face. He actually slept from 2:30 to 6:30; why was he like this!

In the end, although he had clearly bragged about cooking dinner for He Yan to show him the skills of his hands, because he fell asleep until the evening, it turned into He Yan cooking dinner for him.

The point was, he ate the dishes made by He Yan and found that they were so delicious he almost wept on the spot.

When he finished with the meal, the sky had already turned completely dark. Yu Baizhou came out on the balcony to enjoy the breeze when he suddenly remembered he forgot to inform his dad about staying here for dinner.

He hurriedly took out his mobile phone, anxiously shouting in his heart, “It’s over, it’s over, Dad must’ve made countless missed calls to my phone.”

However, when he turned on his phone, he found that there were no missed calls at all??

He Yan came out with a can of beer and a bottle of milk. “Your dad called when you were asleep so I picked it up for you. He knows you’re here with me.”

Yu Baizhou went through his call log. Although there were no missed calls, there was indeed a fifty-second conversation with Fu Xia at 5:10.

Seeing this, he let go of his heart. “I troubled you.”

He Yan walked up to him and leaned on the balcony. He handed over the milk, then opened the beer. “You’re welcome.”

Yu Baizhou took the milk, giving the can of beer in He Yan’s hand a very strong and curious look.

He Yan noticed the obvious stare aimed at the beer in his hand. “What do you see?”

Yu Baizhou asked doubtfully, “You drink beer?”

He Yan wanted to laugh a little. “En.”

It was just beer. How innocent was this person if he thought that He Yan wouldn’t drink it?

Yu Baizhou continued to stare and after a while, brought up what he had kept in his mind from the beginning, asking, “Can you let me try a little? I only have two months until I’m of age.”

Actually, if you went by his original age, he was already an adult.

He Yan looked into Yu Baizhou’s eyes that were full of anticipation. Some part of him wanted to agree, but he refused in the end. “No.”

He didn’t want to lead a teenager onto the wrong road.

Yu Baizhou face lost its expression. “Why? Is it because there’s only one can? If it’s like this, how about I go down to buy some more?”

In his eighteen years of living, Yu Baizhou has never tasted beer. He was greedy and wanted to try. After all, drinking by yourself is boring, and it’s only good when you’re with your friends. After waiting for this opportunity, he really wanted to try it.

He Yan was worried that Yu Baizhou would really go downstairs to buy some. Since there was no other choice*, he agreed.

[T/N: small PSA: don’t do what HY does]

After handing the can over to Yu Baizhou, he said, “You can only take one sip.”

Yu Baizhou nodded, then excitedly held the beer and tentatively tasted a sip.

He Yan’s gaze went over to Yu Baizhou’s lips that covered the only opening of the can. His brown eyes became a little darker.

Yu Baizhou took a sip and soon realised that beer was not as tasty as he had imagined. Not only that, he also found it a bit disgusting.

He returned the beer to He Yan, face slightly unpleasant. “Not good.”

However, he still took out a small bag of candy from his pocket and handed it to He Yan. “Here*, as thank you for the beer.”

[T/N: “诺”/nuo]

They were all strawberry flavoured.

He Yan smiled a little. He took the bag, picked out a piece of candy and unwrapped it, dropped it in the beer, then shook it lightly. Afterwards, tilted his head back to take a mouthful.

Yu Baizhou looked at the can of beer he had previously rejected, eyes brightening once again. He couldn’t help but ask, “Is it good to drink now?”

He Yan handed him the beer from the side. “Want to try again?”

Yu Baizhou: “…”

How did the person who didn’t want to share with him earlier suddenly become so generous now? How tiring.

But despite all this, Yu Baizhou couldn’t stand the temptation and took another sip.

With this mouthful, he tasted something amazing.

“A bit strawberry-like, much better than before!”

He couldn’t help but take a few more mouthfuls.

He Yan moved his arms behind himself and rested his hands on the edge of the balcony. Looking down at the person who couldn’t help but take one sip after another, the smile on his face gradually became deeper. “Yu Baizhou.”

Yu Baizhou cradled the can of beer in his hands. He had barely drunk half of a can and his head was already a little dizzy. “En, huh?”

He Yan stared at him. “In your eyes, what am I like?”

Although he didn’t know why He Yan asked this out of nowhere, Yu Baizhou still thought about it carefully. “Very powerful*.”

[T/N: can also mean amazing, brilliant, awesome, etc. YBZ would probably choose powerful because HY could literally ruin his family if he wanted, haha]

“Aren’t you afraid of me?” He Yan asked.

“Not afraid.” It was impossible to be, but…

Yu Baizhou grinned, his face showing a bit of his drunkenness. “I like the feeling of being with you.”

Hearing this, He Yan paused for half a second, then with a low voice, asked, “How much do you like it?”

Yu Baizhou thought about it and chose to exaggerate his answer. “Just… I like it very much.”

“Do you feel tired?”

Yu Baizhou shook his head.

The night wind brushed past He Yan’s shirt, making it float up slightly.

After a moment, he heard the other say, “Yu Baizhou, let us follow how we are in your thoughts…”

Yu Baizhou turned his head to look at the person beside him while multiple questions jumped around in his eyes. “En?”

His eyes have become a little confused from the alcohol.

He Yan stretched out a hand, thumb rubbing over the pair of lips in front of him, slightly moist with beer.

His lips were touched. Yu Baizhou’s unconsciously wanted to pull his chin back, but after he shrunk back a little, his chin was stopped and supported by a few cold, slender fingers.

With this, He Yan’s low and magnetic voice came from somewhere above him. “Starting from now, how about we make this our first day?”
