TSIFB Chapter 24

穿成校草被迫营业 / Transmigrated into a School Idol and Forced to Do Business
My backer has already come

Yu Baizhou entered the classroom early next morning with countless fatigue lines written on his face. He looked like he had stayed up all night to count the stars and underneath his eyes were two large dark circles.

Tu Gaoming’s desk was the closest to the entrance at the back, sitting in the last row of the first group. When he saw the miserable picture that his boss painted, he couldn’t help but shout at him, “Boss, you… What’s going on?”

Yu Baizhou no longer had energy to support him on his journey to his desk. He took the opportunity to sit down at the empty space next to Tu Gaoming. As soon as his butt hit the chair, his body was already paralysed on top of the table in front of him.

Che Cong, who was sitting in front of Tu Gaoming, also turned around saw that Yu Baizhou really couldn’t afford to fall. He asked Tu Gaoming, “What’s wrong with the boss?”

Before Tu Gaoming began to answer, Yu Baizhou took the initiative to open up.

His voice was like his face’s complexion, so incredibly exhausted it mirrored a dark and heavy cloud that could not be dispersed*. “I drank too much yesterday and had to lie on the ground for the night.”

[T/N: “如乌云中浓郁而无法散开”]

The two: “???”

Drank too much? Was it the ‘drank too much’ that they’re thinking of??

Yu Baizhou opened his eyes and stared at the farthest point of sight possible for him, then let out a heavy sigh.

He wanted to find Li Bei yesterday to inquire about how he acted when drunk and to try find a clue for recovering his memories of that night. However, he wasn’t able to uncover anything from Li Bei’s side. It was this morning, just this morning, that he finally knew exactly and completely what he was like while drunk.

Last night, he originally wanted to try metaphysics. Using metaphysics to remember what had happened that night, he had followed the content of the post in the forum. He moved his blanket to the living room to sleep and had written a detailed ‘I wish to know’ message on a sticky note to stuff under the pillow.

Disaster. It all started from that one sticky note.

He took into account thousands of calculations but never took into account that his dad, who was on a business trip, would actually rush home early in the morning, not to mention that he would see the sticky note he placed under the pillow.

Later, the ‘learned that his son had stayed out on Saturday night to drink, and had even drunk until he lost his memories’ Yu-jiazhang* didn’t rest for even a moment after returning in the night and had immediately dragged him up from the sofa for a round of teaching.

[T/N: “家长”/patriarch: the head of the family]

Not only did Yu Chen lecture him, he then went to the wine cellar to take out five bottles of red wine and put them all before Yu Baizhou to let him drink, told him to drink until he was drunk, and then after waiting until he was drunk, he recorded him with a 4k digital camera with 12x optical zoom to record his whole process of getting drunk! The whole process! Didn’t even miss a second!

Too cruel! This trick was too cruel!

Then, this morning, he was forced to watch a video of himself, lying on the ground and unable to move his body for half a night.

Suddenly, embarrassment, remorse, guilt, doubt… A series of emotions poured into his heart, causing it to ache painfully, and he vowed that he would never touch alcohol ever again!

Yu Chen’s goal was achieved, and he finally succumbed…

But that didn’t mean he gained nothing out of it.

After he embarrassingly finished watching his drunk video, he also managed to catch a very useful information, that is, he was very quiet when he was intoxicated. Reasoning from this, that night, the quiet him probably didn’t do anything too extraordinary* with He Yan.

[T/N: “出格”: overstep the boundary/take things too far]

After listening, Che Cong wondered, “How much wine did Uncle pour you to make you drunk like that?”

Yu Baizhou sat upright. “He didn’t pour. I drank it myself.”

What needed to be clarified should still be clarified*.

[T/N: “该澄清的还是要澄清”: facts should be made clear]

Tu Gaoming asked again, “Then, how much did you drink?”

Yu Baizhou: “…A sip.”

The two people: “…”

The two people: “Pfttt—hahahahahahaha!!”

Yu Baizhou sniffed: “…”

Tu Gaoming had already laughed until he was on the verge of collapsing. After Che Cong finished, he barely managed to retrieve a trace of reason. “Uncle couldn’t just punish you for nothing ba? What did you even do to make Uncle so angry?”

Yu Baizhou told them about that night he became drunk to the point of losing his memories He Yan’s house.

Tu Gaoming exclaimed, “You and He Yan drank and you even stayed overnight??”

Yu Baizhou said, “That’s not the point. The point is that my dad found out about it.”

Che Cong said: “Ze, I think I understand Uncle Yu a little now. Knowing that his son’s alcohol tolerance is ridiculously bad, then suddenly learning that he got drunk at someone else’s house, this situation would make anyone worry ah.”

Yu Baizhou naturally knew that he was in the wrong, so in the end he could do nothing but sigh.

Then he said again, “Not only that, he even extorted a confession through punishment, and how he knows everything I did at He Yan’s place.”

A magnetic voice came from Yu Baizhou’s side. “Knows everything?”

Yu Baizhou was taken aback by the voice that suddenly appeared. “!!! Ah*, shit!”

[T/N: aiyo]

He turned his head and happened to see He Yan, who was standing beside his seat. He wondered out loud, “…When did you come over?”

He Yan held the hand-outs that were to be distributed later in his hands. “Just passing by.”

He Yan asked, “So your father knows about everything?”

When He Yan said the word* ‘everything’, he had specially emphasised it.

Yu Baizhou thought in his heart, ‘Even I don’t know everything, so how could my father know?’ He said, “No, he only knows part of it.”

He Yan immediately followed up with, “Which part doesn’t he know?”

Yu Baizhou listened to He Yan’s tone and suddenly understood that the other wanted to expose* his words.

[T/N: “套”: to obtain slyly]

He Yan most likely wanted to test whether or not he really remembered what had transpired that night, but how could he be exposed so easily?

He cleverly* smiled at He Yan. “Secret.”

[T/N: witty]

The two pairs of eyes met in the air, striking crackling sparks. There was a slight feeling of a competition.

To the side, Tu Gaoming and Che Cong both wore expressions of one watching a show.

After a while, Yu Baizhou suddenly remembered something and said, “Oh, right, if you find an unknown number calling you, do not pick up!”

He Yan asked him, “Why?”

Yu Baizhou: “Because it’ll probably be my father, he said he wanted to have a chat with you…”

Tu Gaoming and Che Cong: “!!!”

He Yan smiled. “Got it.”

After that, he took the information* and left.

[T/N: could refer to both the documents in his hands and YBZ’s advice]

Yu Baizhou watched He Yan’s figure leave as his body’s energy weakened once again.

“Your father is attending a charity dinner on Friday. I may not be able return to the country on time, so when the time comes, accompany your father. When you get home today, Butler* Jiang will take you to pick out a formal outfit for the banquet. Remember to act appropriately, do not be careless.”

[T/N: housekeeper, but fancier]

Yi Tian held his phone and scratched his hair irritably. He said to Yuan Qin on the other end of the phone, “Why do you only tell me now? I’m not going, I already have an arrangement on Friday.”

“What arrangement do you have that is more important than your dad? Doesn’t matter how many you have, cancel every single one.”

“I said that I already have an arrangement and I can’t cancel it! Find someone else to accompany him!”

“You are his son, if you don’t go then who will? Or do you want your father’s illegitimate child to go for you?”

“Don’t fucking talk to me about that illegitimate child. That’s a grudge from your generation, it doesn’t concern this laozi*!”

[T/N: “关老子屁事”: or, more literally, “it is just farts to this laozi!”]

“How dare you talk to me like that? I’m telling you, Yi Tian, right now you must behave well in front of your dad, or else, if one day that child really shows up, then you might as well just wait to be starved*! You…”

[T/N: “喝西北风”/Drink the northwest wind: means to suffer from cold and hunger]

What Yuan Qin had wanted to say, Yi Tian refused to listen for any longer. He smashed his phone against the wall in front of him.

Just try letting that fucking illegitimate child go!!

Yu Baizhou filled in the final answer on the test paper and handed it to the supervising teacher. He went downstairs and found Tu Gaoming and Che Cong to head to the cafeteria.

After last night’s and this morning’s teaching, Yu Baizhou was a little afraid to go home. Going home meant he might have to see Yu Chen, and seeing Yu Chen meant he will be scolded.

En, he will choose to have lunch at school.

There were students all along the way and it was too crowded. The three of them went through the path behind the dormitory building and the crowd dropped by a lot.

Along the way, Che Cong and Tu Gaoming both laughed about his drinking a sip of wine and collapsing ordeal. Yu Baizhou felt that it was really too embarrassing.

Yu Baizhou was walking at the edge of the three person group with his head down when he was suddenly roughly pushed from behind, causing him to stagger.

After the person hit the him, they walked away as if nothing happened. Seeing this, Tu Gaoming stepped forwards, looking like he was about to start a fight out of anger.

Yu Baizhou recognized the back of the person. It was Yi Tian.

He remembered what He Yan had said to him. He Yan told him to provoke Yi Tian as little as possible, and that the farther away from Yi Tian, the better, so in the end, he thought ‘whatever’. He was too lazy to get involved with Yi Tian over such small matters.

In school, there were a total of five cafeterias. Four were for students and one was for the teachers. Due to the closure of the two student cafeterias today, the remaining two cafeterias were particularly packed.

Yu Baizhou had stayed up for the entire night and had not much of an appetite, so he casually picked a few light vegetarian dishes and asked for a bowl of vegetable tofu soup.

There was no empty space in the cafeteria. The three of them were lucky enough to find a table, and it was even the type for groups. Three plus one.

Tu Gaoming and Yu Baizhou discussed the matter of a certain someone attempting to provoke him. Without even thinking, Yu Baizhou refused to retaliate.

He promised Yu Chen that he would not cause trouble at school, otherwise his hopes to go on holiday in Romania would go down the drain.

He still wants to see the vampires.

Tu Gaoming asked, “Why, boss? Have we not always upheld the principle of ‘three day time frame for a small scuffle, seven day time frame for the big fight’?”

Che Cong knocked on Tu Gaoming’s head with a spoon.

Tu Gaoming held his head. “Che Cong, what d’you do that for?”

Che Cong picked up his chopsticks and continued to eat. “Did you forget what the boss said before? We’re almost in our third year, so study hard, don’t just think about going out to fight people.”

Tu Gaoming turned to look at Yu Baizhou, who nodded vigorously.

Tu Gaoming had no choice but to say, “Okay ba. But since we’re talking about it, do you still remember the first time we came to blows with someone?”

Che Cong stared at Tu Gaoming. “Don’t say it.”

Tu Gaoming looked at Che Cong. “Haha, I know you don’t want me to mention it, but I don’t*.”

[T/N: something like “I don’t want to not talk about it”]

Che Cong glared at him. “You better shut up, right now.”

Yu Baizhou supported his cheek with one hand and listened to the noisy quarrel between Tu Gaoming and Che Cong, feeling it was pretty funny, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously lifted up.

He slowly ate his vegetables. Probably because last night’s sleepiness had gradually emerged, when listening to the chattery background of the cafeteria, Yu Baizhou actually felt a little sleepy.

In a daze, he slowly closed his eyes. After a while, Tu Gaoming and Che Cong’s voices seemed to be separated from him by a film.

“Tu Gaoming, do you believe that I will or will not beat you to death if you talk about that in front of me again?”

“Hahaha, what are you afraid of, no one’s even egged you yet.”

“Egg your sister.”

“Haha, I still remember that time we went on that old hiking trip. On the first day, weren’t you almost scared into crying from a bug?”

First day…

“Fuck you. What about that time we went to the beach; the first day we visit the sea and you already drowned. If you aren’t ashamed then I’m ashamed for you.”

First day…

“Haha, I don’t feel embarrassed at all.”

“If you don’t think it’s embarrassing* then how about I narrate what happened that day again?”

“You repeat it ya, either way, it doesn’t matter if you want to tell it again a few more times.”

——”Yu Baizhou, did you really…or do you just want to hear me say it again?”

——”Yu Baizhou…”

——”How we are in your thoughts.”

The shirt hem was blown by the wind.

——”You are drunk.”

——”I’ll call for your dad* to pick you up…”

[T/N: was ‘family’ in ch23]

Fingers were very cold.

——”Yu Baizhou…”

——”Starting from now…”

——”Make this our first day.”

A gust of wind blew in from the entrance of the cafeteria, and suddenly, Yu Baizhou opened his eyes wide.

Remembered, what happened that night!

Somewhere else, Pan Yi and He Yan were eating.

Pan Yi suddenly thought of something. “Right, Yan-ge, this Friday my dad’s company is going to hold a charity dinner. Do you want to come along with me?”

“What can I do if I go?” He Yan poked at the green peppers on his plate.

Pan Yi whispered, “I heard my mum say, at that time, Yi Haixiang and his family will also attend. I was thinking, isn’t he your dad? Instead of dealing with that cheap* mother and son, do you want Yi Haixiang to acknowledge you in advance and give that mother and son pair a fierce dismount*?”

[T/N: worthless/of little worth]

[T/N: to show his strength]

Pan Yi had already recognized Yi Tian that time in the cafeteria, and he was very clear about the grudge between the He Yan and Yuan Qin*.

[T/N: “也清楚贺衍和袁沁那母子俩的恩怨”]

He Yan thought about it for a bit. “Right now is not the time.”

Pan Yi had no choice but to say, “All right ba.”

He asked again, “Then are you still going or not?”

He Yan: “Not going. Even if I go, it’ll just be a waste of time.”

Right now, he finally had free time at his disposal. He doesn’t want to waste it on attending useless events.

Wasted on that mother and son pair, especially worthless.

Pan Yi nodded and said nothing more. He knew that He Yan had his own sense of propriety.

Halfway through the meal, Pan Yi received a phone call.

The cafeteria was too noisy so he went out to answer the phone, leaving only He Yan at the table.

He Yan put down the chopsticks in his hand and turned to looked at the back that was a few meters away from him.

From the moment that figure sat down, he hasn’t moved at all, constantly keeping the ‘hand supporting the cheek’ position, as if he was sleeping.

How sleepy was this person, to be on the verge of falling asleep while eating?

He Yan’s line of sight was focused on the person not that far away when there was suddenly a racket somewhere beside him.

He retracted his eyes and gave a glance across the table. There were four more plates.

Right now, the cafeteria was full of people. There were more people that were looking for a place to sit than actual free seats.

An ill-mannered voice came from the side. “Scram to the side, don’t affect our boss’ meal.”

Opposite He Yan’s seat, someone sat down.

The boss of that small population, Yi Tian.

The tables in the cafeteria were all designed for four people. At He Yan’s table, he was the only one, while Yi Tian’s group had exactly four people.

This way, they had another reason to get rid of He Yan.

The ill-mannered voice echoed in his ear, but He Yan just turned a deaf ear.

Yi Tian leaned back in his chair. His mood did not seem to be all that good. “Be tactful. Hurry up and leave while I’m not angry.”

He Yan picked up his chopsticks and slowly moved the green peppers on his plate one-by-one into a pile on a side dish. He did not give them even the slightest bit of attention.

Yi Tian brows furrowed. Then he thought of something and turned a little speechless. “He Yan. Is it because you think that Yu Baizhou is your fucking backer, I wouldn’t dare to move you?”

Hearing Yu Baizhou’s name, He Yan just barely titled his head to give him a glance. Then, in a lazy tone, replied, “What if I said yes?”

Yi Tian was already incredibly irritated over the matters regarding his mother and that illegitimate child. When adding on the obstacle that is He Yan, his mood was now annoyed to the extreme.

He lifted a foot to kick at the table in front of him. The table itself was movable, so after getting kicked so hard, all the dishes on top of it shattered on the floor. The dishes split all over the place and even more fell on He Yan’s uniform.

The table toppled over and dishes were shattered.

With such a sudden and loud racket in the cafeteria, they naturally attracted the attention of many people.

Yi Tian’s eyes were already long and narrow but after he squinted, it made people shudder in fear. “I really dare!”

He Yan looked around at the messy surroundings, lips slightly pursed.

Yi Tian angrily raised his tone. “So are you going to fucking leave?”

Suddenly, He Yan’s eyes softened, and his initially pursed lips loosened again. “Too late, my backer has already come.”

Yi Tian was doubtful. The next second, the top of his head had hot vegetable soup poured directly on it.

A variety of vegetables decorated his head.

In an instant, his appearance was ruined to the upmost extent.

The wind blowing through the door ruffled Yu Baizhou’s soft hair, looking like it was floating. The empty bowl in his hand was already thrown aside. “Despite knowing he is my person, you still dare? Do you have nothing better to do?”

  2. Pffft! Just a sip! Honestly, I know that father is particularly stern so he probably wouldn’t, but if I was in that position I’d at least be inwardly laughing!

The original plot is already long abandoned. I just wonder what will happen now that YBZ is going to be targeted? Don’t underestimate this spitfire and his dads!

Somehow I’m convinced that even remembering that night YBZ will misunderstand!

Thanks for your hard work translating!
